it was amazing. i really think it was perfect for fans and non fans a like. chris pine's kirk was fantastic. he really nailed it. every character was well played, bones and scotty my personal favorites. they even through some well known catch phrases in there which was a huge tip of the hat to us nerds. without giving too much away, the film follows an "alternate reality" which if you are a fan of star trek, you know all about alternate realities because there have been so many episodes dealing with them. some continuity is thrown askew from what we trek fans know, but again, this new look at the story line really works for this film, and for the franchise in general. i can most definitely see one if not more films being made with this incarnation of star trek. with action from start to end, very dramatic scenes and a lot of humor alike, this film is great. i could not be more pleased.
