Biography:
Sourblood formed in early 2004 as a joke between four friends. The band consisted of Justin "Bloomy" Bloomfield on Vocals, Zach Mettler on Drums, Chad Lindsey on Guitar and Nick Dean on Bass. The band started practicing and soon began writing songs. Around Nocember of the same year, it was time for the first show. If you could describe it in one word, that word would be disaster. As time went on, the band kept practicing and getting more and more of a fanbase. In late 2005, Zach had decided that he no longer wanted to play drums and moved to guitar. The search was on for a new drummer. After a few auditions, with no success of finding a replacement, in stepped a friend of the band, Jordan "Twitch" Poling. Twitch had been around during the later stages of the band, and seemed to fit right in. With a new drummer found, it was time to write new material. It had seemed like no time was missed. After many shows, and demand from frnas, it was time to head into the studio to record an EP. Recorded in the basement of the practice place, "Dead Like Me" was realeased on May 5th 2006 with great reviews. Many shows followed after the release of the CD including one of the biggest shows for Sourblood, playing with DOPE on July 27th, 2006 at the famed Alrosa Villa. During the weeks leading up to the DOPE show, Sourblood were writing material for their first full length CD, but something wasn't feeling right. Zach informed the band that his last show would be with Cellador at the High Five. Zach wasn't feeling the music anymore, and wasn't happy with what was going on inside the band. With Zach leaving, a decision was made by the rest of the band to carry on under the Sourblood name. During this downtime, Sourblood recieved a call from the owner ofthe Alrosa Villa stating that he wanted us to play on the bill for the Dry Kill Logic show. With the show fast approaching, Sourblood asked longtime friend of the band, John Mills to fill in the vacant spot that Zach had left. With the show fast approaching, he agreed and practice began almost immediately. Shortly before the show, Dry Kill Logic had to cancel due to personal reasons. With the show cancelled, the four members of Sourblood made a collective decision and asked Mills if he would join the band permenantly. Without hesitation, he said he would love to. With the new lineup complete, it was a new Sourblood. A new sound, sometimes melodic, somtimes hardcore, but always metal. Things just continue to grow for the band, and there is nowhere to go but up!
