Biography:
Amon Amarth meaning "The mountain of doom" (taken from the novel "The lord of the ring" by J.R.R Tolkien) - formed in Tumba (south of Stockholm Sweden)1992 from the ashes of Scum by Olavi Mikkonen guitar, Nico Kaukinen drums, Ted Lundström bass, Johan Hegg vocals and Anders Hansson gutiar.
First demo "Thor Arise" was recorded in 1993 at Studio Lagret, but was never released due to poor soundquality. Contained a cover version of Black Sabbath's "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath".
Second demo "The Arrival of the Fimbul Winter" was recorded in 1994 at the same studio. Released in a bit over 1.000 copies. Received good reviews in the underground and is sold out.
